EU-PROMENS is a mental health capacity building programme which aims to increase and improve the skills of mental health professionals across Europe. The programme is funded by the EU4Health programme and implemented by a consortium of projects (GFA Consulting Group GmbH, Trimbos Institute and Mental Health Europe). The development programme aims to increase and improve the skills of mental health professionals across Europe. Valo-Valmennusyhdistys coordinates the training and exchange programme in Finland.
The EU-Promens capacity building programme consists of two parts:
- A multidisciplinary mental health training programme for mental health professionals
- An exchange programme for mental health professionals (organised in 6 different participating countries, of which Finland is one)
The programme is aimed at professionals from the following professional groups, among others:
- Health professionals working in mental health sector
- Teachers and educators working in the educational setting
- Social workers working in various community settings
- Professionals working in prisons and juvenile detention centres
- Mental health policy makers and experts/advisors
- Members of the service users/people with lived experience organisations
- Trainers and mentors of students, apprentices, and the workforce of the above-mentioned professions
The EU-Promens programme will run from January 2024 to December 2026.
