The objectives of the HYPE project are to provide support to young people experiencing mental health challenges, to make their voices heard in the societal debate on mental health, to strengthen the capacity of those working with young people to support them in caring for their mental health, and to strengthen cooperation with health service providers in the informal training and activity space of the Valo-Valmennusyhdistys for Young Adults.
Through experiential, peer-to-peer communication and workshop-style participatory activities, young people will have a voice. Young people will be able to share their experiences and ideas about mental health issues and related potential stigmas and structural barriers in society.
The project will build the capacity of local youth workers to engage with young people with mental health challenges and develop their own professional skills, as well as their own collaborative networks to engage young people in mental health services. The development work will draw on the knowledge and experience of young people.
The HYPE project has started in January 2024 and will continue until the end of February 2026. The European partners of Valo-Valmennusyhdistys are Keur Eskemm from France, Scomodo ETS from Italy, Communa asbl from Belgium and Federation of Rural Animation in Pays de Vilaine from France. The project is coordinated by Coop Eskemm from France.
Valo-Valmennusyhdistys will receive Erasmus+ funding of €66 800 for the project.
