Learning and Participation through Socially Engaged Theater

Valo-Valmennusyhdistys is taking part in Erasmus+ -programme Learning and Participation through Socially Engaged Theater-project (KA210-ADU – Small-scale partnerships in adult education).

Project Summary
Objectives:
The project promotes exchange of good practices among professionals promoting learning and inclusion of people with criminal backgrounds. During the project, the utilisation of community theatre and Forum theatre model in this work will be piloted in particular. The project strengthens the networks of actors and the competence of professionals working with people with a criminal background. It also promotes information about the target group and its situation to the public.
Implementation:
The project organises international training on the use of community theatre models within the target group. The model will be piloted with local pilots, the progress and experiences of which will be monitored together. A manual on the use of the model will be published. The experiences and results of the project will be disseminated through active communication to others working with the target group, stakeholders, decision-makers and to the public.
Results:
Minimum 20 professionals will participate in the training of the project. Minimum 40 adult learners will participate in local pilots organised by the project. The handbook supports the implementation of the model in project organisations and other organisations working with people with a criminal background. The expertise of the implementing network will be strengthened, resulting in increased expertise in international cooperation and peer learning.
