The aim of the project is to find solutions to the unemployment problem of NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) young people aged 18-29 in Finland and Lithuania. We will implement the Supported Work Opportunity Model (SWOM) used in the Netherlands. The project will focus on innovative methods such as coaching and mentoring to provide young people with the skills and confidence needed to integrate into the labour market.
The aim is to apply the SWOM model to youth employment, strengthen youth inclusion and reduce youth unemployment in Finland and Lithuania.
The target group is unemployed and unskilled young people aged 18-29 who face various barriers to employment. Including those with physical or psychosocial disabilities, experiencing poverty, with educational or skills deficits or who have been in contact with the justice system.
Project activities and objectives
The project will reach 200 NEET young people.
80 young people will receive personal mentoring services.
30 participants will be successfully employed.
10 experts will learn how to apply the SWOM methodology in Finland and Lithuania.
The main project coordinator is ZISPB in Lithuania and the partners are SWOM in the Netherlands, Valo-Valmennusyhdistys ry in Varsinais-Suomi and HUMAK.
The total budget of the project is €471 271, of which €377 005 is funded by the European Union.
