Music-Based Empowerment for Youth with Fewer Opportunities
Valo-Valmennusyhdistys ry coordinates the Erasmus+ RISE – Rhythms for Inclusion, Solidarity, and Empowerment project, which brings together young people and youth work professionals from Finland, Estonia, and Greece.
RISE is an Erasmus+ project that strengthens the participation, well‑being and inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities through creative, music‑based methods. The project brings together organisations from Finland, Estonia and Greece to develop innovative approaches that support self‑expression, creativity and personal growth, while also enhancing the skills of professionals working with these youth.
The RISE project aims to:
- empower young people with fewer opportunities through music‑based interventions that promote participation, well‑being, creativity and social inclusion
- support both personal and interpersonal development
- strengthen the competences of professionals working with these youth
- foster transnational collaboration, knowledge exchange and long‑term partnerships among participating organisations
Youth participation is at the heart of RISE. Young people are engaged as active contributors throughout the project.
The project includes:
- professional training in music‑based methods for youth workers and professionals
- the collection, documentation and sharing of good practices in a practical handbook
- Creative Try‑Outs in diverse settings, where the handbook is applied in real‑life activities to foster creativity, inclusion and meaningful learning experiences across borders
Expected Results
RISE will:
- enhance the competences of professionals working with youth with fewer opportunities
- provide accessible resources and increase the visibility of music‑based interventions
- strengthen youth engagement, participation and well‑being
