The OUYE (Opening Universities for Youth in Europe) project will build a common European framework for action to lower the threshold for young people to enter higher education, who are usually excluded from this opportunity.
The objectives of the project are:
To identify existing valuable knowledge and skills of young people who are excluded or at risk of exclusion, thus ensuring their learning pathway to higher education.
To develop non-formal and informal learning in higher education by creating a coaching model with researchers, youth workers and young people through participatory action research.
Strengthen young people’s knowledge, experience and expertise in human and social sciences.
Explore the role of non-formal and informal learning in European higher education to support and build a sustainable society.
The project involves four higher education institutions and six organisations from four different countries. The main project partner is the Universite de Rennes I in France, and the French organisations Cridev and Démozamau are also involved. The Finnish partners are the Valo-Valmennusyassociation and the Humak University of Applied Sciences. From the UK, Sheba arts, RAPAR (Refugee and Asylum Participatory Action Research) and The Manchester Metropolitan University. The Turkish partners are YEDITEPE UNIVERSITY VAKIF and the Zero Discrimination Association.
The project will run from 2020 to 2023 and is funded by Erasmus+.
